Uroflow test
What is Uroflow?
Uroflow, or uroflowmetry, is a simple and painless test used to measure the strength and speed of urine flow during urination.
It helps the doctor understand how your bladder and urethra are functioning and whether there are any obstructions or emptying problems.
The test is quick, non-invasive, and does not cause pain.
How is the test performed?
During the uroflow test, you will be asked to urinate into a special device that measures:
- urine flow rate
- urine volume
- duration of urination
The device records the data automatically, and the doctor analyzes the results.
The test is performed privately and in a normal urination position.
The whole procedure takes only a few minutes.
What is important to know before the test?
- Come to the test with a full bladder (do not urinate right before the visit).
- If needed, drink water before the appointment.
- Usually no special preparation is required.
- Inform the doctor if you have symptoms of a urinary tract infection.
Good and natural urination during the test is very important for accurate results.
What sensations may occur during the test?
Uroflow testing does not cause pain.
You may feel the normal urge to urinate, but the test itself does not cause physical discomfort.
What to expect after the test?
After the uroflow test:
- You may continue your normal activities immediately
- No restrictions are needed
- No recovery time is required
This is a completely safe examination that does not strain the body.
Why is uroflow testing important?
The test helps diagnose:
- urination difficulties
- weak urine flow
- prostate problems
- bladder emptying disorders
- urination disorders in both children and adults
Early diagnosis helps choose the most appropriate and effective treatment.
Our goal is to ensure that you feel calm and safe during the examination. If you have questions or concerns, we are always happy to explain.
